I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Hillcrest Merchant’s Association website.
On behalf of the Association and its outstanding members, we want to thank you for your interest in our historic community known as Hillcrest.
On this site’s calendar, you will find continuously updated public service information about Hillcrest as well as the Association sponsored events that occur throughout the year. Hillcrest is a special community-one of the oldest in Little Rock-and we know how to provide an enjoyable experience for our visitors and residents. Events sponsored by the Association include our First Thursday Shop and Sip, where merchants provide refreshments and entertainment for patrons visiting their establishments on the first Thursday of every month. On the First Thursday of July, we host an ice cream social in Crest Park that includes entertainment such as a brass band and children’s choir. In the fall, the Association will be presenting the annual Harvestfest fall celebration, a charity fund-raising festival featuring vendors, painters, musicians, food, and a host of other fun fall events with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Allen School. In the November-December time frame, the Association sponsors our Holidays in Hillcrest celebration during which merchants have open houses in the evenings, holiday lights are hung around the neighborhood, and a special tree-lighting and music presentation at the Allsopp Park Promenade on Kavanaugh occurs for the entire neighborhood’s enjoyment. Cookies, hot chocolate, coffee, and Santa all add to the holiday spirit of the tree lighting, and it’s always fun to see the children and their pets who attend the event in anticipation of kicking-off this great time of year.
We hope that you find the information on this website useful, and that you will frequent the many wonderful restaurants, retail shops, and service organizations in our neighborhood. Please link to their websites for specific information about individual merchants. If you have any questions about our community, the work done by the Association, or this web-site, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you would like to join our group, please let me know since we can always make the community a better place to live and work with your help.
